Schomburg Center 100th Anniversary

Project Alpha Main

The Schomburg Center celebrated their 100th year they reached out to have stepped / staggered bookcase built along with this they requested a chemetal wall with oak lettering and vertical slats to commemorate there long-standing history. They requested a black walnut finished on all fabricated elements and I personally love the look. This project had a very quick turnaround time. As soon as I got ahold of the client 3d models I had to generate cut files in less than 4 hrs. Thankfully the structure had a repeating pattern that allowed me to create a custom Grasshopper script to speed up my workflow. This was unique because as I was reverse engineering the Grasshopper script was right on my tail generating the cut patterns as I went. This is one of the few instances where I was able to work in parallel.
